Thomas has to deal with a friend dying, saying he's almost home; and still battling deppression. He says "If he dies, I don't want to see him" -
The first of fighting for Thomas; Elections
It's unknown if this was his first experience fighting or not but that's what is understood in the letter(He returned safely). He was heading down to elections for a new governor. -
Thinking about moving to Texas and explains very bad snow storm

Depression and Homesick
Thomas has been at camp for over 6 months and homesickness is beginning to take place. also, it has been rainly consistantly for two days now, which sets the mood of deppression. -
Unlce died + Friend
Thomas's uncle (R W Reynolds) died from unknown;
And Joseph Jester(friend/neighbor) died from wounds in the war. -
Wedding for the neighbors
Mis Em. Bradley and Mr. Wilson(Thomas's neighbors) were to get married, which brings Thomas's spirits up. -
Found new temporary camp
Raided enemy's camp in Denton, NC and found horses, cattle, sheep, etc. -
On Picket and Attacked
Him and a few men were on Picket when theyu got attacked by some bushwackers. No one was hurt though. -
