Long before the death of Santiago he bought this warehouse for them to live in after the wedding. -

Vicario brothers smell Santiago
After they kill Santiago they think everything smells like him and can't get rid of the smell. -
17 Years later Bayardo comes back
"She kept on without quarter for seventeen years (95)."
Angela kept writing him letters for 17 years in hope that he would come back to her. He eventually came back with all the letters but none of them were opened. Why come back? Why are all of them still closed and if he didn't open any of them then how would he know to come back?
