    Feast of Lupercal

    The Feast of Lupercal is a celebration for the God of fertility, Lupercal. Antony runs a race and wins, then touches Calpurnius to bless her with fertility. Caesar is offered the crown 3 times, but denies them all. Caesar is warned about the Ides of March by a soothsayer, but chooses to ignore him. This scene is important because Caesar is playing hard to get, which makes the people of Rome want him as king even more, and it foreshadows his death.

    Cassius & Brutus

    Cassius has the idea to assassinate Caesar, but tries to get Brutus involved. He compliments Brutus and tries to persuade him. Eventually Brutus is in on the plot and even confesses to Cassius that no matter how good of a friend Caesar is to him, he thinks that he will be a bad king and is afraid of what he will do to Rome.

    Soliloquy

    Brutus talks about his conflict and how he doesn't know what to do. He is torn between his love for Rome and his love for Caesar. Caesar is his great friend and he should be happy for his success and support him as king. But he does not think that he will make a good king and fears that the decisions he will make will cause great damage to Rome. This is important because it helps us realize that he is making his decision out of his best interest for his city.

    The Storm

    Casca and Cassius are talking about the storm. There are multiple strange events like ghosts, lions giving birth in the street, and a man with his hand on fire, but no burn damage afterwards. This all happens the night before the planned assassination, so Cassius believes that these are all signs that the Gods are trying to warn Caesar about his death. All the conspirators meet at Brutus's home to plan out the next day.

    Brutus Gains Power

    Brutus decides to join the conspiracy. As soon as he joins he ends up taking most of the power away from Cassius without even realizing it. The men will bring up ideas and Brutus would approve or disapprove them without hesitation almost as if he is their leader. They discuss their plan for the assassination for the following day and plan how everything is going to happen.

    Portia & Calpurnia

    Portia is able to tell that Brutus is acting weird and she is concerned for what he has planned. She asks what is wrong and he tells her that is just having health issues but she doesn't believe him. Brutus promises that he will tell her. Calpurnia is afraid for Caesar's safety because she had strange dreams about him and doesn't think it's safe for him today. This shows that both of them care for their husbands and just want them to stay safe.

    The Morning of the Assassination

    Decius goes to Caesar's home and persuades him to the capital. All the conspirators go with him to make it seem like a normal day. Caesar even talks about how much he loves all of them and how great of friends they all are, which he has no clue what they are all about to do to him. Artemidorus hears word of the plan, and writes Caesar a note. In the note, he warns Caesar of each of the men and tells him to be careful. He is going to pass by Caesar and give him the letter, but Caesar doesn't care

    The Assassination

    All of the conspirators except Casca are distracting Caesar and talking to him. Then Casca sneaks up behind him and stabs him. Then they all start to attack him and kill Caesar. His finals words are to Brutus which are "Et Tu, Brute? Then fall Caesar." He was suprised to see Brutus stabbing him too because he thought that they were friends. Antony sees all of this and goes back to his home and does not return until his servant lets him know it is safe enough.

    Antony & the Conspirators

    When Antony returns, he is very sad when he sees Caesar's body. The conpirators try to talk him into joining their side and explain their reasoning for the killing, and Antony makes them believe that he is on their side and that they can trust him. He persuades them to let him talk at Caesar's funeral, but Antony's speech has to follow Brutus's, and Antony is not allowed to say anything bad about the conspirators.

    Caesar's Funeral

    Brutus gives his speech and it is very good. He describes his reasonings and everyone is so supportive of Brutus and his decision that they all want to crown him king right there. When Antony gives his speech it starts to change peoples' minds. At first they disagree because they support Brutus, but then Antony really makes them think badly of Brutus and what he did. By the end of Antony's speech, the crowd has turned against Brutus and want to kill all the conspirators. Cassius & Brutus flee.
  • Antony & Octavius

    Antony, Octavius, & Lepidus are the new powers of Rome. Their actions are fueled by greed and control. Antony sends Lepidus on random errands, because he feels he is not worthy enough of being powerful and decides he is a better messenger. Octavius disagrees and thinks he is very powerful and a good leader. They want to keep their power, so they are killing anyone they think could ruin that. Which even includes their family members, as in Antony's nephew & Lepidus's brother.
  • Cassius & Brutus's arguement

    They fled Rome and are living in Asia Minor. They are the leaders of soldiers, but lately something was different. They weren't getting a long the best and would not help each other out when one of them had a request. They have an argument about why they're being the way, but make sure to do it inside of the tent so they don't make their troops worried. This is when Brutus finally reveals to Cassius that his sister, Portia, Brutus's wife, has killed herself by swallowing hot coals. He is shocked
  • Caesar's Ghost

    Brutus is about to go to sleep inside of his tent, when he sees something. He is not sure what it is at first, but for sure knows it is something supernatural. It begins to speak and he realizes it was Caesar. He tells Brutus before he leaves that he will see him again at the Battle of Phillipi, which is where Brutus & Caesar are planning to have war with Antony & Octavius.
  • Cassius's Suicide

    Pindarius brings news that Cassius's camp is being attacked. He sees his tents on fire and Titinius assures him that those are his tents. He sends Titinius to see whats happening and return with news. Pindarius is on a hill, sending Cassius updates of Titanius's progress. Titanius is soon surrounded by them. Cassius tells Pindarius to watch no more, and come help him. Pindarius holds the sword, and them stabs Cassius after his request.
  • Brutus's Suicide

    Brutus is about to go to battle again, and while he is on the battlefield he sees Caesars' ghost again. Once he sees this he realizes that it is his time to die. He asks all of his soldiers to help him kill himself, but all of them refuse. Finally one of the soldiers, Strato, agreed to help Brutus. Strato holds the sword and Brutus runs onto it, killing himself. Octavius and Antony come and request that all of Cassius and Brutus' men come and join their army. They agree
