Birth
Born July 24, 1783, was a Venezuelan Soldier with the name of Simon Bolivar. When he was three years old his father passed away and when he was 9 his mother also passed away. So his uncle inherited him and got him tutors for ways to grow up and a good path to lead. -
Education
At the age of 16 Simon was sent off to finish his education in Europe. For 3 whole years he lived in spain the in 1801 he married the daughter of a Spanish Nobleman and they returned to Caracas. But his wife died in only a year of marriage from yellow fever. -
Returning
In 1804 Simon returned to Europe and followed in the footsteps of his friend and tutor and wrote the European rationalists. While in Paris he met a German scientist who told him Spanish colonies were ripe in independence. -
Debate
In 1811 he jumped in a debate and aroused the whole country. On his first public speech he said “Let us lay the cornerstone of American freedom without fear. To hesitate is to perish.” -
Given a Title
In 1813 he was given the title of Liberator. He got this for fighting and battling during wars and battles. Around this time a brutal civil war broke out with shooting of prisoners and more brutal brutal times and Bolivar resorted to extreme measures. -
Headquarters
Simon Bolivar in 1817 decided to set up a headquarters in the Orinoco River area. This area has not been hit by war or any battles so he thought this was a great area for a place like this. He started writing a newspaper for that area and town at this time. -
Victory
May 24, 1822 he won a victory that freed Ecuador from the Spanish yoke. The next day the capital fell and Bolivar joined forces with Sucrue. Another romantic thing happened and that is when Manuela Saenz freely confessed her love for Bolivar. -
New Land
1819 Simon Bolivar he was begging the legislatives to create a new state. They ended up creating Gran Colombia. Most of the area was still under royal control so it was quite a big accomplishment. -
Traveling
On September 1823 Bolivar went to Lima. The spanish had taken over the mountains and so Simon formed an army of troops horses and mules to overcome the spanish. The first battle started at Junin. -
Death
Simon on December 17, 1830 died at the age of 47 due to tuberculosis. He did a lot of work for anyone big to small and died at a young age.
