King Hrothgar saved Beowulf's father so Beowulf leaves Geatland to help save everyone from Grendel.

Crossing the Threshold

Beowulf gather's 14 men and they sail to to Denmark to help Hrothgar.

Challenges or Trials (Grendel)

Beowulf waits for Grendel with no sword. Grendel appears and battles Beowulf. Grendel crawls away half dead.

Challenges or Trials (Grendel's Mother)

Grendel's Mother is set on revenge so she kills Hrothgar's closest friend. Now Beowulf must kill her too. After Beowulf kills Grendel's mother he finds Grendel and cuts off its arm.

Abyss or Temptation

The abyss is Grendel's mother's lair. It is dark and scary.

Transformation

Beowulf transforms after he defeats Grendel's mother and become king. He goes from just being a warrior to ruling people.

Beowulf's special weapon is his sword. He defeats many villains with this weapon.

Supernatural Helper or Mentor

Wiglaf is Beowulf's supernatural mentor. Wiglaf was the only one there for Beowulf when there wasn't any Geats to help him.

The Mastery of Two Worlds

Beowulf lives as a hero and as a king. This is how he masters two worlds. He rules his people but he also fights for them.

The Return Home

Beowulf returns home after defeating Grendel's mother. He is made king for his brave acts. He has saved many people that have been suffering.
