    Antonio Lucio Vivaldi born in Venecia 4 March 1678 and died 28 July 1741 in Viena
  • Parents

    Vivaldi's parents were Giovanni Battista Vivaldi and Camilla Calicchio, as recorded in the register of San Giovanni in Bragora. He has five brothers and sisters: Margarita Gabriela, María Cecilia, Tomaso Bonaventura, Anna Zanetta y Gaetano Francesco

    Giovanni Battista, who was a barber before becoming a professional violinist, taught Antonio to play the violin and then toured Venice playing the violin with his young son.

    He started working in the Ospedale della Pietà, an orphanage for womens in the city. 1 September 1703 with 25 years was named violin teacher of the Orchestra of Pietà, after was named the teacher of the viola all´ inglese
