He fled Athens when Socrates was executed because he and the other students were not welcomed in Athens any more.Plato traveled from place to place for a number of years eventually he returned to Athens in 387 B.C then he decided to start a school called the academy.It lasted for more than 900 years until a roman emperor closed it because it did not teach christianity.
