Alexander Conquers Persia
He was determined to follow what his dad had wanted by trying to defeat King Darius (King of Persian Empire). Alexander crossed the Hellespont into Anatolia. Since Darius didn't think he was much of a threat so he sent other generals to fight the war. Alexander the Great won the battle of Granicus. -

Alexander becomes King of Macedonia.
At the age of 20, Alexander became the King of Macedonia after his father's bodyguard killed him. -

Second Battle Persia
This was the second battle with Darius. He thought he was going to win because he had a larger army, but Alexander had a smarter army and used his phalanx formation to win the battle. Darius had fled and Alexander couldn't catch him, but he caught his wife and kids. -
332 BCE
Attempted Peace Treaty
Darius wanted to get his family back and tried to get them through a petition. He had offered Alexander half of his kingdom, which was the land west of the Euphrates river. Alexander refused the treaty and challenged Darius to keep fighting. -
331 BCE
Final Battle
This was the final battle between the Persians and Macedonians. Once again, Darius saw that he couldn't win the battle and fled. Darius had died, Alexander the Great had won the battle, and he became the new King of Persia. -

Conquering Egypt
Alexander the Great had now taken over Egypt and and said to be the son of the god Zeus-Ammon. He did not try to impose his ideas of religion or culture on people. After designing the city of Alexandria he left to complete his conquests. -

Alexanders Empire
Alexander had taken over Persian Empire, and he continued to move east taking over more land. He was the founder of many cities and named all of them Alexandria, but his most famous was Egypt. He continued all the way into the Indus Valley in India. He allowed people to keep their religions and customs, and he opened his mind up to other things. He later married Darius' daughter. -
323 BCE
Alexander's Death
When they were traveling in India, his soldiers had told him to go home. On his way back to Greece, he became very ill and died. It could have been from sickness or poison. He died at the age of 32.
