Part One: Chapter One
Winston Smith just got back to London. Big Brother's eyes are everywhere. When he gets home he goes to a space where Big Brother can't see and starts to write a diary. Writing a diary is going against the laws and he can be punished to death. He was writing about his encounter with seeing a girl that he was fond of. -
Part One: Chapter Two
Winston is writing his diary when he hears a knock at the door. Mrs. Parsons was his neighbor who asked if Winston could help unclog her sink, because her husband was not home. When he went to go help her, her children kept on calling Winston a traitor. After he was done helping her he went back to writing in his diary. He remembered a dream that he had around 7 years ago. In the dream he had found out who his audience was. -
Part One: Chapter Three
Winston keeps on having these dreams and flashbacks of his mom and sister. In his mind he keeps on thinking of their death. He thinks that he could be responsible for both of them. Everyday they have to do some form of exercise with an instructor through the TV. During the exercise he just stops and thinks about his mother and sister, and his instructor starts to yell at him. -
Part One: Chapter Four
For Winston's Job he has to write an article that Big Brother had formerly given to another worker but is now in disfavor with them. Winston needs to exist but at the same time not exist. He needed to create a dead man that was never living. -
Part One: Chapter Five
Winston is talking with one of his friends named Syme. He keeps on telling Winston to do Newspeak. To Winston Newspeak is something that makes him feel funny but he just won't tell anybody. He sees his co-worker Julia and he is very convinced that she is part of the thought police. More of Winston's workers keep telling him that his children that are always being watched for unorthodox behavior. -
Part One: Chapter Six
Winston took his chances of getting caught with a prostitute. If he did get caught that would be 5 years in prison. Which the party encouraged to get their desires out of the way. Winston showed the prostitute his diary and that just shows how much sexual desire he has at that moment. While doing this he remembers his wife of 11 years left him because she was so orthodox towards the party. -
Part One: Chapter Seven
Winston starts writing in his diary again about how he wants the proles to rebel and maybe just maybe they could over turn what the party has to say. During his writings he remembers when he was at a coffee shop that these three people were killed. The reason they were killed was because they were against the party. He remembered seeing pictures of them and the only way he could was if they were falsely accused of something they didn't do just so the party has a reason to kill them. -
Part One: Chapter Eight
While Winston is walking around the prole streets there was a bomb that had fell right next to him. He then goes into a bar and talks to this old man about the war. The old man does not want to communicate back with Winston so he leaves. He went to go to an antique shop and bought a diary and a paperweight. While he was talking with the owner the owner showed him an empty room that had no camera's/TVs. -
Part Two: Chapter One
Winston sees this girl named Julia. When he sees her she has a cast on and is walking past him and she falls and drops something in front of him. He helps her up and then she gives him a note. He goes to a place with no cameras to read the note that says "I Love You". His mind is roaming about what this could mean, but is later interrupted by Parson who is talking to him about hate week. Him and Julia never really talk nor sit together but the one time they did they talked about meeting up. -
Part Two: Chapter Two
Julia and Winston do end up meeting in the countryside. Julia tells Winston to follow her to where the spot was. While they are walking Winston feels safe around her even if she was a spy. When they reach the spot she finally tells him her name. While they are there they make love to each other. When they are done they started to talk. Winston asks if she ever loved anybody else before and she says yes. -
Part Two: Chapter Three
The next day they both return to their regular lives in London. Both Julia and Winston are still meeting in different places. Later, Julia says her opinion about the party and how she dislikes them because they stop her from having her fun. Winston is quite the opposite because all he wants to know is the truth behind everything. -
Part Two: Chapter Four
Winston and has rented a room from Mr. Charrington. So sense Julia is part of the Inner Party she gets the luxury of the Inner Party. She is able to wear lipstick and make her self more feminine. Another thing is she gets real coffee and real tea bags. While they are making love Winston spots a rat which he is terrified of. She starts to comfort him and notices his paperweight book. -
Part Two: Chapter Five
When he goes back to the office Syme is gone. And the first day people remember after that he was like erased from everything and everybody's memory. Soon all Winston thought about was Julia and that room that he rented. He even had thoughts of his wife dying just so he could be able to marry Julia. Later they both have a disagreement about the war and the party. Winston thinks that they are real on the other hand Julia thinks that they were just fake. -
Part Two: Chapter Six
O'Brien and Winston finally meet and start to converse for some times until they stop. Winston is very exited and nervous because he does not know what is going to happen. Later O'Brien gives his address to Winston which no one usually does. Winston is very happy to get it but is nervous that he might soon be facing death. -
Part Two: Chapter Seven
When Julia and Winston are asleep together Winston wakes up crying. The reason he was crying was because he believed that he is the person that killed his mother he explained to Julia. He was always greedy as a child and even went to a point of starving both his mother and sister. He soon ran away and never wanted to see them. They continued to talk about what would happen if they get caught doing this. -
Part Two: Chapter Eight
Julia and Winston go to visit O'Brien. O'Brien is able to turn of the TV so he does. Winston starts to talk about how he is unfaithful and wants to join the brotherhood O'Brien told him that there is a brotherhood and if he wants to join that he will have to risk anything and everything. And when he does he will receive THE BOOK. -
Part Two: Chapter Nine A
Winston is now working countless amount of hours and becoming exhausted. The fact that Oceania is now switching sides and mid-way they say that they are with war with Eastasia instead of Eurasia. That just makes people turn all their anger towards Eastasia now. When he goes to the room he rented he starts to read real meaning of what war is in Goldstein's manual. -
Part Two: Chapter Nine B
While he is reading the manual he is noticing the reason for upper class, middle class, and lower class. If the lower class get learn a lot then they just won't listen to anybody anymore. Also the party wants to own all of the earth and throw away all of us having independence. There is no stopping war in this situation.
