The Kwantung army of Japan invaded Manchuria. Important because it led up to bombing Pearl harbor. -
Adolf Hitler Named Chancellor
Germany was getting desperate and they needed someone to fix it so President Hindenburg named him chancellor. Important because he took Germany at it's most vulnerable point and changed Germany to have his perfect race, he pretty much started WWII and took over a lot of countries and messed a lot up. -
The Munich Pact
Settlement that let Germany take over some parts of Czechoslovakia. It was important because it made Hitler feel like he could take more than he was able to. -
Kristallnacht
"The Night of the Broken Glass." Almost 200 synagogues were destroyed, 8,000 Jewish shops were sacked and thousands of Jews were removed from concentration camps. Important because some people thought it was the beginning of the holocaust. It was the first time that the Nazi security actually targeted Jews for death. -
Invasion of Poland
Hitler took over Poland and then lied saying Poland attacked Germany first. Important because it started WW2. -
Dunkirk
It was an evacuation of the Allied soldiers from the beaches and harbor of Dunkirk. Important because the Allies got to live longer because the Germans let them go. -
Attack On Pearl Harbor
Surprise military strike from the Japanese Navy on the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Important because that's what led the US into joining WWII. -
Bataan Death March
The Japanese Army marched 60,000-80,000 Filipino and American Prisoners of War. Important because it showed how cruel the Japanese were to any foreigners. -
D- Day
It was the largest sea invasion, it was an attack on a beach called Normandy. Important because a lot of their gear they got on land so they could fight a ground battle. -
Battle of the Bulge
It was a major German offensive campaign to split the allied powers and Hitler deprived them of seaport. Important because it was the last time Hitler attacked. -
Yalta Conference
Meeting with the British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, Soviet premier, Joseph Stalin, and President FDR in Yalta. Important because Allies decided how to divide up Europe after the victory. -
V E Day
Victory in Europe day. A day to celebrate the Japan surrendered. Important because it actually marked the ending to WWII. -
The Bombing Of Hiroshima
The US dropped atomic bombs on the Japan cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Killed 129,000 people. Important because it was the first time a nuclear bomb was used and everyone could see how bad it was. It also was important because Japan surrendered and ended the war. -
V J Day
Victory over Japan day. The USS Missouri hosts the formal surrender of the Japanese government to the Allies. Important because the military campaign meant it was the end of world war two.
