Babur's Birth
Babur was born on Feb. 14 1483. He was the oldest son of Omar Sheykh Mirzā, the ruler of the Fergana Valley. His mother was Qutlugh Nigar Khanum, the daughter of Yungus Khan, who was the ruler of Monghulistan. -

Babur succeeded his father
Babur at the age of 12 succeeded his father as ruler of Farghana. his uncles were relenteless in their attemps to get him kicked out of his position that he had to live a sheltered life. He was aided by his friends and peasants. -
Nov 2, 1497
Samarkand
Babur's first attack was on the city, Samarkand. After seven months of battling he got the city. Meanwhile, a troop of rebels captured his territory of Farghana. He was on his way to get his land back but his troops deserted him and he was left with nothing. -
Jan 1, 1504
Kabul
Babur built up a strong army. He then went across the Hindu Kush into India. He captured the city of Kabul. With this victory, he gained a wealthy kindom and gained a title as a king. -

Battle of Panipat
Babar and the Mughals wanted to get the city of Delhi. They set up a trap in Panipat. Their enemy Ibrahim Lodi took the bait and sent around 30,000 troops to Panipat againts Babur"s 15,000. The Mugahls had dug trences to narrow the road makeing Lodi's men come in smaller groups. Babur used cannons and guns to defeat Lodi and his men. They then took Delhi. -
Mar 17, 1527
Battle of Khanua
Babur was surrounded by Rana Sanga, the Rajput King, and his 100,000 and 500 elephants. Babur set up barriers made from wagons with gaps for artillery. The artillery stampeaded the elephants and they held their ground until 10 hours later they won the battle. -
May 6, 1529
Battle of Ghaghara
Ibrahim Lodi's brother, Mahmud Lodi, didnt like Babur for killing his brother and was trying to take Babur's territory. Babur fought him near the river of Ghaghara, which flows into the Ganges River. Babur used his famous artillery in the battle along with the skillful handing of boats. This lead to another victory for Babur but it was his last. -

Humayun gets sick
Babur was very ill so his son,Humayun came to help him. When he got there, he got sick himself. It is said that Babar prayed to the gods to take him instead. He circled the bed seven times to complete the deed. Babur died later that year and his son took his place in the throne. -

Humayun
Humayun took over Babur's rule. He gained more territory for his empire. He added control of almost 100 square miles. -
Dec 6, 1530
Bubar's Death
Babur died on jan. 5 1530 at the age of 47. He was succeed by his eldest son, Humayun. He was buried in a Mausoleum in Agra. He was later buried in his favorite garden in Kabul. Today, Babur is considered a national hero in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzsta.
