Biography of V. I. Vernadsky
Born in Saint Petersburg.His father, Ivan Vasilyevich, was a descendant of the Zaporozhye Cossack foreman.Mother Anna Petrovna Konstantinovna came from a Russian noble family. -

Education
In 1873 he entered the first class of the Kharkiv Classical Gymnasium.
In 1876, after the family returned to St. Petersburg, V. I. Vernadsky entered the third grade of the First St. Petersburg Classical Gymnasium.
In 1881, he graduated from the gymnasium eighth in the graduation, which was not so bad at all.
In 1881-1885, he studied at the Natural Sciences Department of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Imperial St. Petersburg University. -
Scientific work
He was a doctor of geognosy and mineralogy.
On March 17, 1906, he was elected an associate of the Imperial St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences in the Department of Physics and Mathematics (mineralogy).
On April 18, 1908, he was elected an extraordinary academician in mineralogy. Since March 16, 1912-ordinary academician.
In 1911, he worked at the Geological Museum of the Imperial Academy of Sciences. -
Death
On December 25, 1944, V. I. Vernadsky suffered a massive stroke.
On January 6, 1945, he died in Moscow.
He was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.
