  • George Washington

    George Washington
    George Washington was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia in 1732, on February 22nd. He worked his way through the government branches and was elected the first president of the United States of America. George Washington was elected to be the first ever president and laid the foundation for the presidents that followed. He then died on December 14th, 1799, at the age of 67.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was an event where colonists and soldiers were harassing one another, which led to the frighetened soldiers killing five colonists. Therefore, anti-British feelings were fueled.
  • Declaration of Independance

    Declaration of Independance
    The Declaration of Independence was written to gain independence from Britain. It was signed by the committee which included Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and many others. In the document, it says why they wanted to separate from Britain and that there is freedom in their new country. It was important because it gave the American’s freedom.

    The Louisiana Purchase was a purchase made by President Jefferson on April 30th, 1803 which doubled the land of the United States and gave the United States complete control over the Mississippi River. It was explored by Lewis and Clark(history.com).
  • The Lewis and Clark Journey West

    The Lewis and Clark Journey West
    Lewis and Clark were hired by President Jefferson to explore the Louisiana Purchase. On their journey, Clark was the expert map maker who made new and accurate maps for the generations ahead who would settle in the area. Lewis recorded over 200 new plant and animal species new to science along the journey(history.com).
  • Battle of Alamo

    Battle of Alamo
    The Battle of Alamo was a historic vent in which the United States try to take Texas away from Mexico. Although the United States gave a valient effort, they were not able to beat Mexico to gain control of Texas(history.com).
  • Trail of Tears

    Trail of Tears
    The Trail of Tears was an evetn where President Jackson kicked the Native Americans out of their land. The Natives did many things. The Cherokee went to court and won but were still forced out. Another tribe peacefully went to the new territory. Tribes also fought back but they didn't succeed(history.com).
  • The Donner Party

    The Donner Party
    The Donner party was a migration with people from Springfield, Illinois who were heading west. They wanted to take a supposedly shorter route to California but went terribly wrong. The route was actually a lot longer and they got caught in a winter storm while traveling through the mountains. they had to resort to cannabolism to survive(history.com).

    The California Gold Rush was an event in history where many people became wealthy and the United States economy grew. It had many people such as Chinese, Irish, Mexican, and Americans(history.com).
  • Attack on Fort Sumter

    Attack on Fort Sumter
    On April 12, 1861, General Beauregard, who was in command of the Confederates around Charleston Harbor, opened fire on the Union garrison holding Fort Sumter. Then, at 2:30 pm, Major Robert Anderson surrendered the fort and was evacuated the next day. It was important because it was the first battle of the American Civil War.

    The Philadelphia eagles were founded in 1933. Moreover, the eagles are in the East division in the NFC conference. Moreover, the eagles overall record is 541-573-26. Also, their top player by approximate value (all-time) is Reggie White. This is important because it is a football team in the NFL and is located in a city that has a lot of history.

    The Holocaust was a persecution and murder of six million Jews by Hitler who was the German dictator at the time. The Nazi’s used many torture devices to kill the Jews such as concentration camps, gas chambers, freezing people to death, burning people in ovens, were tested with drugs, they were hung by their feet and beaten, and many other forms of torture. This event in history was important because it was a very tragic event in history and we should learn from this experien
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    On December 7th, 1941, the United States Navy was hit with a surprise attack by the Japanese. During this attack, over 2,400 members of the United States military were killed. This event was important because it shows that we were not ready for a surprise attack by the Japanese. It also killed many people and we need to remember them for their sacrifice to defend their country.
  • Brown vs. Board of Education

    Brown vs. Board of Education
    Five schools from Delaware, Kansas, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. wanted to segregate their schools in the years of the early 1950’s. The “Brown” in the case was an African American girl named Linda Brown who had to travel across town to attend a school for black children even though she lived close to a school for white children. It was important because school segregation is not fair.
  • Death of Elvis

    Death of Elvis
    Elvis Presley died on August 16th, 1977, at the age of 42. He passed away because of a heart attack. He suffered this heart attack by overdosing on prescription drugs. This event was importan because he was a great singer and he was considered the king of rock and roll.
  • 9-11 Terrorist attacks

    9-11 Terrorist attacks
    A group of 19 terrorists hijacked 4 plains and were going to purposefully crash them into both the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. This was an act done by Osama Bin laden and a group call Al-Qaeda. In doing so, they killed around 3,000 people. This attack is what started the war in Afghanistan. Also, many Americans risked their lives to save the people who were trapped in the buildings.
