Graduation
Grant went to the military school of West Point. When he entered the military, he planned to serve a short term. He served way more than he expected. -
His First War
After graduating military school, Grant went to fight for Lee in the Mexican-American war. Lee would soon become a future enemy. -
Business
Grant tried at many businesses but ultiately failed in each one. -
Civil War
When the war broke out, Grant went back into duty. -
Shiloh
Grant fought at the Battle of Shiloh and was hailed a hero for doing so. He helped defeat many Confedarate troops, and would later go on to be very successful. -
Vicksburg
Grant layed siege of Vicksburg and took the fort. He did this and took control of the Mississippi while doing so. -
Ending The War
Soon, Grant completed part f the anaconda plan, and moved on to take control of the entire union army. Becuase of this, he helped end the war. He signed the treaty to end the war at the Appamatox courthouse. -
Pesidency
Grant easily won the second electon. He won it easily because he ws a famous war hero. -
Second Term
Grant had been a great preident, so they had elected him a second time. He fought for Civil Rights, including former slaves. -
End of Presidency
Grant left the presidency with many enemies. His presidncy included scandals, which many people did not like. He also ended up writing a memoir right before he died, anfter going on a world tour.
