This was an assembly of bishops, cardinals and other important church authorities who would meet to discuss reform and doctrinal issues. Important because this was a big part of the Catholic Reformation, they said church officials would have better moral standards and build schools and seminars to better educate priests. -

A war that began as a bohemian religious conflict (Protestant against Catholic) and became a giant war that involved all the great powers at that time. As time passed, it became a more political war in which individual powers struggled to move away from the idea of religious unity and wanted to become independent centralized states. Important because that is what happens with the peace of Westphalia. -
Peace of westphalia
The Peace of Westphalia was the treaty that would end the Thirty Years' War. Basically he agreed that all countries recognize each other as sovereigns and equals. This is important because although the struggle did not stop after this, it would end with the idea of a possibility of religious unity and Europe would continue with the sovereign states. -
The seven year war
The Seven Years' War was a war that originally started against France when it was becoming very strong in Europe and later became an even bigger issue involving France, Austria and Russia against Great Britain and Prussia. It is important because it shows the distinctive sovereignty of each nation and because of participation in the Americas, it shows that the war was on a global scale in a more imperialist struggle.
