Acrisius, King of Argos, find out that one day his grandson would kill him so he locks his only daughter Danae in an underground chamber to be kept from men. -
99 BCE
Perseus's Birth
Zeus fell in love with Danae and took the form of golden rain to go into the chamber and impregnated her. -
98 BCE
The Box
Perseus was born and when Acrisius found out that he was born, he locked Danae and her son in a box to be cast out to sea too drown. -
97 BCE
Poseidons Favor
Zeus found out about this and asked the god Poseidon to calm the seas so that Danae and Perseus would have safe water. This allowed the box to be washed up on the shore of Serifos -
96 BCE
The Kings Plan
Perseus grew up with a fisherman on that island named “Dictys”, and during that time the King of that island, Polydectes, got infatuated with his mom Danae but thought that Perseus was an obstacle to marry her so he made a plan to get rid of him. -
95 BCE
The Challenge
Polydectes challenged Perseus to kill the monster Medusa and bring back her head. Which Medusa was a snake haired monster that turned anyone who looked into her eyes too stone. -
94 BCE
Help From the Gods
What Polydectes did not know, was that Perseus was in good connection with the gods in which Hermes the messenger god gave Perseus winged sandals to find medusa's cave, and Athena gave Perseus a shield that turned the wearer invisible. -
93 BCE
Killing Medusa
He found the cave of Medusa and was not spotted because of his invisibility. Then he flew around medusa’s sisters too kill them, and then was able to decapitate Medusa by approaching her while using reflection on the shield so he was not petrified. -
92 BCE
Meeting Andromeda
On his way back, he stopped to see a girl that was chained up to a rock that was ready to be sacrificed to a sea monster. Perseus used the decapitated Medusa head to turn the monster to stone and then saved the girl named Andromeda. -
91 BCE
Back to Serifos
After Perseus rescued Andromeda from the monster, he took her back too Serifos and got married too her. But their he turned the king that tried too marry his mother to stone and made the fisherman king. -
90 BCE
Completes the Prophecy
He then returns to Acrisius island without him knowing and took part in some sporting games. Perseus continues too throw a discus wrong and accidentally kills his grandfather Acrisius and completes the prophecy.
