God made covenant with Abraham
God promised to take care of Abraham's people and give them land. Abraham and his people were called to follow God with loyalty and love. -
Abraham had a son with his wife sarah
His name was Isaac -
Abraham had to sacrifice his son
This was to show his loyalty to God. God withdrew the command last minute because of Abrahams willingness to sacrifice his son was enough to strength of the covenant. -

named Jacob -
Covenant was renewed
In Jacob's dream God told him that he is always with him and he still is keeping his promise to give them the promised land -
Jacob fathered 12 sons and was given a new name
Israel was his new name. It was sign of his special relationship with God. -
Joseph was sold as a slave
His brothers were really jealous of him because he was Jacob's favourite child. -
Joseph worked his way up to prime minister of the country.
He invited his father and brothers to come and visit him. They all forgave each other -
