The wandering of Odysseus

    Soon after leaving troy

  • the land of the cyclopes

    when they first arrive they see a cloud of dense fog. all they were feasting on was wine and wild goats. after three days have past they set out to find out if the cyclopes is a friend or foe.

    after the island of the cyclops he then lands on the aeolia home of Aeolus the god of winds. when he was there he handed Odysseus a bottle full of winds which was to make his journey home a lot safer. this happened sometime after the island of the cyclopes
  • the island of laestragonians

    while Odysseus and his men were here they were attacked by ravenous cannibals. they killed so many men and they killed all except one ship full of men.

    when they get here Odysseus wants to find a person named Circe and set his men on food to try and scout the area but when his crew does not return he then goes out and tries to see what is going on. while exploring he runs into a person named Hermes and is told the only way he could defeat Circe was to eat a plant named moly. he eats it then defeated Circe.

    he goes to the land of the dead seaking what Circe told him he should find to be able to get home safely. he finds Tiresias exactly as Circe told him he would. Tiresias tells him to sail towards Scylla and Charybdis.
  • the sirens

    when they arrive here they have to sail through the sirens and they play a song no man can make it through but Odysseus told his men to use beeswax and cover p their ear as for him he told them to tie him up and no matter how hard he struggled and fought to only tie him tighter eventually they were able to make it through the sirens.
  • Scylla/Charybdis

    after they make it to Scylla Odysseus does exactly was Tiresias suggested was to go straight into the cave six of his men were killed and the rest made it OK and so they moved on.

    when they get here he tells his men to not eat and of the cattle because a storm is raging on. while he is away and is trying to pray for the rain to stop his men decide that they will just kill the cattle and eat them anyway instead of starving to death. but this came at a price Odysseus men were killed by zues and he was kept alive because he knew that Odysseus had no part in this

    after the long journey home he finally made it Athena disguised him as a beggar so that way he could remain hidden while he analyzes the trust and loyalty of his friends and family. after everything was said and done he finally has reclaimed his title after zues commanded that the fighting were to stop.
