Lewis & Clark Expedition
In 1803 Pres. Thomas Jefferson hired Meriweather Lewis & Willam Clark to explore the west. During this expedition Lewis & Clark charted different animals & plants. They also journaled about different Indian tribes. The most important thing they did was graph different geographical regions of the west. -

Plymouth
Plymouth was made by people who spoke against the church. A group also called the adventurist also came with the separatist. The plan was to land near Virginia and start a British colony, but do to weather they landed in a different part of America. -

Jamestown was founded by the virginia company. King James gave 144 men permission to start a colony in Virginia. -

King Charles claimed the New Netherlands as his . He named one of the netherlands after the Duke of york ( his brother). It was founded 1664. -
Sugar Act
The sugar act was placed in 1764. Parliament placed a tax on sugar & molasses imported from foreign countries. A colonist spoke up & said “ NO taxation without representation” which means parliament can tax the U.S. until we was apart of parliament. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp act was placed in 1765. Parlement placed a tax on all printed materials. This is the direct tax on the colonist. The House of Burgess said that only VA can tax only VA representatives. Which means only VA can place tax on their representatives. -
Tea Act
The tea tax was placed in 1773 the colonist was required to buy and pay a tax on East India tea company. -
Bostin Tea Party
On december 16,1773 the sons of liberty dumped the East India tea and dumped it into the boston harbor. -

The 2nd continental congress was a convention of delegates from the 13 colonies that started meeting in the summer in philadelphia this is important because it made our congress stronger. -

The battle of saratoga is a very important battle. this battle is the turning point for the revolution. The patriots was losing the revolution but when they fought at saratoga the finally won. The battle of saratoga in was the first battle the patriots won. -

The trail of tears is caused by Andrew Jackson. He sent soldiers to move to Indian tribe west. On this journey the Indians were treated poorly, and had to fight diseases. This journey was called the trail of tears. -

California gold rush the california gold rush began January 24 1848. When the gold rush was founded by James Marshall, everyone left their home, kids and wives to go dig. Everyone traveled at least one of the three routes. These routes where the organ trail, the panama shortcut or going around the cape horn. The gold rush ended January 1849. -
