Around the age of 7, I was fortunate enough to sing at halftime of a New York Knicks game as a part of a competition for Kidz Bop. This was significant to my musicianship because it was the first time that I really sang in front of a large audience. It gave me the courage to do other performances.

    Miss American Princess 2008
When I was 8 years old, I won the title of Miss American Princess 2008. This was part of American Coed Pageants, and in the years before I was Miss New Jersey twice and 1st Runner up for Miss American Princess. I used my talent of singing to finally claim the title. This event is important to me because it was validation that I was talented and that I could succeed.

This was by far my favorite musicals that I have ever been in. I have had leads in musicals, before, but I really connected to this role. Playing Tracy Turnblad taught me that music can tell stories to people in a way that not only is pleasant to hear. However, musicals teach people lessons about life, so being able to portray such an influential role taught me about the time period and what can happen when just one person cares enough to speak up.

    Legally Blonde
I was so happy when I found out that I got to play Paulette in Legally Blonde the Musical. It was so good to broaden the types of accents that I could do and it also really tested my comedic timing and my vocal ability.

In my Sophmore and Senior years of high school it was a pleasure to be a part of the All South Jersey Choir. In my Sophomore year I took a chance and auditioned as an Alto (normally being a Soprano), and I got in! It was scary to learn a new voice part, but it ultimately helped me because that summer at the Washington National Opera I was classified as a Mezzo-Soprano and put on the Alto line for ensemble pieces. Now, I can sing any voice part (as long as it’s in my range).

    Washington National Opera
During the summer before my Sopmore year I was fortunate enough to be one of 30 high school students in the country to be chosen to be a part of the Washington National Opera Intensive Program. Over the course of three weeks I got to learn more about the Opera world and more about my voice.

In my Junior year of High School I was fortunate enough to be accepted in to the Tri M Music Honors Society. It was so good to share my talent through music related community service.

    Miss Pitman 2018
10 years after I was crowned Miss American Princess 2008, I was crowned Miss Pitman 2018. I sang "Nessum Dorma" and after growing up, this reaffirmed that I could succeed in life by using my talent. I knew that if I always remembered that, there wasn't anything I couldn't do.
