NASA rovers Opportunity, Spirit arrive on Mars
The rovers of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Opportunity and Spirit, landed safely on Mars and kicked off their research in January. They have sent back tens of thousands of photos over the past year and found evidence that water once existed on the Red Planet. It is the mankind's first-ever field geological study of another planet. -

My first year in life
Getting introduced my HUDGE family. Aunts, Uncles, cousins ( cousins to come), grandparents. Sadly I didn't get to met meet my grandmothers at an early age but I did later on (age 13).

My close relatives are born
Many of my cousins are born past 2004 and in 2006 my cousin Marlen Perez was born amongst many others. I have about 10 cousins that are born in 2006 but she's more like a sister. -
Pluto is downgraded from a planet to a dwarf planet
It seems every kid's way of remembering all the planets of our solar system ('My very easy method just shows us nine planets') is now redundant thanks to the IAU's decision to declassify Pluto as a planet. This is because Pluto doesn't meet one of the three criterias for a Solar System object to be considered a planet, namely" Since then Pluto has been characterised as a lonely planet with the other eight planets leaving him out in a series of memes. -

It was the junta-led government's decision to raise the price of fuel — and, therefore, the costs of transportation and food staples like rice and cooking oil — that sparked the largest protests in Burma, also known as Myanmar, in August and inspired monks to take to the streets en masse a month later. The holy men asked civilians not to join their demonstrations — and the government refrained from retaliating. -
My grandpas leave the U.S.A
My grandpas say they're goodbyes as they head back home to Mexico. They haven't came back since but obviously keep in contact their families here too. -
Barack Obama Elected 44th U.S. President
On November 4, voters in the United States convincingly backed the first-term senator from Illinois in his bid for the White House, making him the country's first African-American to be elected president.
Now comes the hard part -- ending the war in Iraq, as he has promised to do; ramping up the fight against the Taliban in Afghanistan; and confronting the financial crisis that has devastated large sections of the U.S. -- and global -- economy. -
Baptism
I was baptized at the age of 5 in the month October. This is special to me because it opened my eyes to religion and who I are up to believe in. -
My passion for music and singing
At the age of 5 I stated to love the fact that I could use my voice so well. It stated watching the Disney show Hannah Montana and kept growing. -

Gulf Oil Spill
A nighttime explosion rocked the Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20. Rescuers evacuated the remaining 115 workers from the rig-nearly 50 miles off the coast of southern Louisiana. Workers for BP-the company leasing the rig at the time of the explosion spent 87 days trying to stop the oil gushing 5,000 feet below the surface at a peak rate of 62,000 barrels a day. The worst offshore oil spill in history produced a swirling oil slick the size of Delaware. -
Memorable Birthday
Each year I had a birthday party thrown for me. On my sixth birthday it was one of the biggest birthday I has so far. My uncle wanted it to be special so he bought a bouncy house, cotton candy machine, also clowns to join. -

Adrenaline Rushes
Around this time people could see my adventures side my mom says. That i wanted to go on judge rollercoaster and loved fairs ( not for the small rides but for the big ones). I loved entertainment (as another). Sometimes even compare me to the cartoon character Spongebob for my bubbly and joyful personality showing. -
Karaoke
My parents started to take me to a karaoke restaurant every Friday for about a year. We loved it, my other family would always come and join. It was a Mexican restaurant and I got to learn to sing more. -
London Olympics
On July 27, London officially kicked-off the world's biggest sporting event with a star-studded opening ceremony (photos) that felt part Broadway musical and part history lesson.When it was all over, the United States took a familiar spot atop the overall medal tally. -
My First Dog
My first dog and only dog now is DJ a chihuahua . I wanted a dog for so long every year for Christmas, and all I would get was a fake one. Then finally my dad surprised me in March. -
Boston Marathon Bombing

Leg Injury they day before 5th Grade Dance
On my little cousins birthday May 28th Ii went to the hospital because I had opened my leg due to a hard fall. I made it in time for my fish grade dance. It was fun but couldn't move much. -

The Zika Virus

First trip to Mexico
It was my very first time being out side the state of FL and on a plane. Not only that but meeting even more of my family in Mexico. It's a beautiful place witch I forever will call home. -

The London and Manchester bombings featured heavily here, as people remembered these attacks. The shootings in Las Vegas were also remembered. -
Family Vacation
Our first family vacation. We would often have eventful weekends going to fairs and having fun. But my parents always worked so we never had time to spent even a whole week off to be together. Finally my parents got a break and we spent a whole week in a hotel and going to seaward,Aquatica, Legoland, and bush gardens. We've been to amusement parks a lot but never spent a whole week nonstop together. -
Child immigrants being separated from parents
Perhaps one of the more unsettling events of 2018 was the separation and detainment of immigrant children from their parents.It's hard to forget the images of the children in distress after the Trump administration's crackdown on immigration.Headlines were dominated by the event and caused massive outrage across the world. Although the government has been urged to move faster to reunite families, we as a country, have a lot more to do. -
My Grandpa Passes Away
My grandpa Teofilo Pedraza passes away. I was visiting Mexico at the time and I was about to take my flight in about a few days. I fortunately was there to say my goodbyes and be at his funeral not only for me but for my mother. -
The Amazon Burns

Mis Quince Años
I turned 15 years old. In Mexico this a big celebration for a young girl becoming a young adult. It took almost a year to plan and to rehearse. There was more than 300 people at my party. It was not on my birthday but a month after so we could have extra time to plan. -

Virus takes hold globally
A global total of more than 75,000 people are dead and 1.3 million have been infected. About 270,000 have recovered. There is no agreed-upon strategy on how to return life to normal. -
A loss in our family.
On February 26th my cousin Alejandro Romero passes away due to a car accident. He passed a couple weeks after the accident. He was 19 years old and was a great loss and we miss him dearly.
