My happy childhood
I have experienced a really happy childhood because my parents had invested a lot on me since I am the only child in the family. I always got presents every birthdays and all kinds of different holidays. After this period of carefree childhood, I got my decent achievement in kindergarten which had satisfied my parents for how much they had expected. -

My uncle and aunt moved to Canada
When I was still only 6 years old, my uncle and my aunt moved to Canada. This might be one of the biggest changes in my family, since they have moved to live at the other side of the world, and it takes more than 15 hours to travel between. But it is also because of this change has given me the opportunities to come and study in Canada and to experience the Western-style education. -
Learning Chinese traditional arithmetic in kindergarten
While my last year in kindergarten, I started to learn the Chinese traditioal arithmetic by using a tool to calculate from ancient China. This had given me a really strong foundation in my math before I entered elementary school. It is also because of this reason, I have earned the interest in math in the future of my life. -
An extra year in kindergarten
Since most of children in China regularly take three years of kindergarten before going to elementary school, but I had taken an extra year in kindergarten because of the policies of the Chinese education system. In China, most of children that are born after September 1st will usually need to spend one more year in kindergarten before they get go to elementary school at the "right" age, and I was just one of them. This has given me more learning experiences in kindergarten before school. -
My experiences in elementary school
At the first time that I started to go to elementary school in China, I found that I really loves school and studying knowledges. I got a really good mark in elementary school and that helped me to build up a strong foundation of knowledges that allow me to enter the best secondary school in my hometown and also benefits for my future. -
My parents' expectations to me
Since I have entered elementary schools, my parents' expectation to me is really high, they always hope me can do better and better. However, they usually still give me my own choices to decide my future. -

First time to travel to a foreign country
It was my first time to travel to a foreign country with my parents. I had found out that the world was so big and there were still lots more waiting for me to discover. Also, I have found out that English is so important when you go to visit a foreign country other than China, and I need to work hard on learning English in order to be able to communicate with others from different countries. -
My experiences of participating in the highest level of youth's science competition in China
When I was in Grade 5 in elementary school in China, I have got the opportunites to participate in the highest level of youth's science competition in China to share my idea with scientists through this competition. Even though the score that I had achieved was not the best, but it still gave me the opportunites to challenge other students all across China. -
Finishing elementary schools and entering secondary school in China
Since the Chinese education system, we need to go to secondary school for three years after finishing six years of elementary school and still need to go to high school for three more years before entering to university. When I finished my elementary school, I tried really hard for the secondary school entrance exam in order to get into the best secondary shool in my city and it has been really a big change in my life. -
My first visit to Canada
At the time I finish the six-year elementary school in China, I have taken my first visit to Canada in the summer holiday with my parents to visit my uncle's family in Canada. I have firstly experienced the life of Western culture and enrolled in a summer camp in local school which had given me lots of interests to study abroad in Canada for my high school and also my future. -
International Department in secondary school
After I had entered secondary school, my famiy had decided to send me abroad for grade 9 in high school before I finished secondary school in China. In order to learn and practice more English and get more skills to adjust the new living and learning environment in Canada, I enrolled in the International Department of my school. I spent more time every day to learn and practice my pronounciation in English, we learned every science academic subjects in both Chinese and English. -

Learning experiences in playing guitar
I learned how to play guitar in my grade seven's summer holiday, this learning experiences had given me more interests in music. Beofre this, I don't like music at all, but I have learned the interest toward it after I learned how to play guitar. -
A school trip to London
After my first year of secondary school in China, I have been to London, England with a school trip in the summer holiday. The purposes of the trip was actually to study about movie-making and to experience the British culture by visiting the capital city of England. It is the first time for me to study within an English environment and I have found out what I still need to improve in order to study in Canada for the future. -
The first time I gave an English speech
While the beginning of my second year in the International Department of my secondary school, I got a chance to participate in an English speech competition and my English teacher encouraged me to take this opportunity. However, it was my first time to give a speech in English and it was a national competition. I took a long time to practice my pronounciation and made corrections to the content with my teachers. This experience had given me more practice in English and also the confidence. -
Coming to Canada
I have been coming to Canada for education since the summer of 2015, it is one of the biggest changes in my life. I have been used to live with the Chinese traditional lifestyle, but I need to adapt the new style of English-speaking culture with so different governmental system and different rules in the society. -
Living in Canada
When camparing the life in Canada and China, there are so many differences. As long as I have experienced in Canada, I have found out lots of differences between these two societies and cultures. After finding out these advantages and disadvantages of these two countries, I have been able to improve my life by combining the Chinese traditional and Western culture. -
Studying in Canada
After coming to Canada, I entered Markville Secondary School as a grade 9 student within one month. I needed to ajust the new English-speaking studying environment instead of what I was used to in China. I was going to study with my classmates who have been speaking English for their lives and I was also going to learn everything new source of knowledge in English but not Chinese. -
Start to think about my own future
After I have come to Canada for high school education, the Canadian education system makes me started to think about my own future, about what to study in the future, and what I am going to do in the after my post-secondary education. -

The first time to experience snow
Since I come from southern China where there is no snow at all every year, I was pretty excited to experience the snow in Canada for my first time in my first year to Canada. -
My experiences in learning French in Canada
During the second semester of grade 9 in high school in Canada, I have got an opportunities to study French. This experience has not only given me the knowledges about spoken and written French, but also my interets in studying new languages. -
Being a teaching assistant
Since my grade 10 in Markville, I have been being a teaching assistant for both Mandarin and Cantonese every Saturday for the International Languages Program in Markville for the students who are in Grade 2. I learned how to communicate with chilidren and be patient to the children. -
Study hard and read more books
In my future studying whether in high school or university, I will try my best to study hard to achieve a higher level of achievement. Other than studying hard in the academic subjects in school, I would like to read more books to know more about the world and to learn different cultures and different opinions from those famous people in different kind of fields. -
Improve my mark every year
Since this year, I would like to set a goal for myself, which is to try my best to improve my average mark of the year every school year. It doesn't matter how much I have improved, as long as I get a better achievement than last year, that also counts as an improvement. -
Graduate high school for university
After studying in Grade 12 in high school, I am going to graduate from high school, and look for more post-secondary education. I will try hard to attend university for more education toward my dream in the future. -
Learning Spanish
I wish to learn Spanish as a foreign language because of the interest of learning languages from my experiences of studying French.
