John J.Pershing
He command the American Expiditionary force in Europe during WW1. John was the president and first captain of the west point class in 1886. He then was sent in the Spanish and Philippine-Ameican wars. He wsa later selected to command the American troops that was sent to Europe by President Woodrow and served as an army chieft from 1921-1924. He died on July 15,1948 -
Glenn Curtiss
He built light weight engins used in flights. In 1907 he joined the Aerial Experiment Association. He created motorcycle and was the first American Motorcycle champion. He also produced and sell the first set of private airplane. He then died on the July 23,1930. -
Franklin D.Roosevelt
He relocated more than 100,000 Japanese Ameican civilians into internment camps in 1942. He helped established the Social Security Comission and the Federal Deposit Insurence coporation, which is still being used today. He also helped with establishig the National Labor Relation Act and the agricultural Adjustment Administration. He died on the April 12,1945. -
Marcus Garvey
He led the largest black movement in all of history.He traveled around the world when he was young before persuig his real dream. He started an organiztion called Universal Negro Improvement and Conservation Association and African Communities League. Ironically most of his supporters were white in Jamica because the black did not like him and did not want to be called negros. Alivin York
He was cridited for killing 20 men and capturing 132 in the Greman war and was then promoted the rank sergeant in April 1919. he was then awarded the higest American military decoration, the Congressional Medal of Honor. He was then named "Wars biggest Hero" by the New york times. He died on Sep.2,1948 -
Dorothea Lange
She was a famous photographer in the 20th century. Her work was mostly about the Great Depression and post war years. Some of her famous works are "Family of Man" and 'Migrant Mother,Nipoma California. She later died on the Oct.11,1965. -
Langston Hughes
He was awarded medal for distinguished Achievements by the African American in 1960 by the NAACP. He was a famous poet that was based on his view on the African American community verses the white community and his view on the Harlem Renanssance. Some of his famous works are, "Not without Laughter", "the Weary Blues", and " The Big Sea". Died on May 22,1967 -
Charles Lindbergh
He was famous for being the first person to fly from New york to Paris,Farance in little over one day in 1927. It took him from the 20 to the 21 of May of 1927 to flew to Paris. He was them awared with the Distinguished Flying Cross by the President. Died on Aug.26,1974 -
The Great Migration
It was a great migration that happened between the South and the North in the 1900s. Over 6million Afo-Americans moved from the South to go to the North because of segretion in the south, the was also the KKK and the Jim crow laws that mad the Afro-Americans want to move. In the North they had more freedom and job oppertunity. -

It was in the early 1920s and early 1930s. It spread through Texas, Oklahoma,and Kansas. It was caused by a drough, which was caused by excessive farming and really dry soil also by large windstorms. -
