    Oscar Claude Monet was born in Paris, France on November 14, 1840. to Adolphe and Louise Monet. Oscar was part of his original name, but he would later drop it to be know simply as Claude. Shortly after his birth his family would mobe to the Normandy adrea of France (Waldron 9-10 ).
