2. The Finding of Wellington
Christopher finds his neighbor's dog, Mr.Wellington, dead in the yard with a pitchfork in it. He then takes it out and holds the dog. Mrs.Shears then comes outsides and finds them, then screams and calls the police. The police questioned him, upsetting Christopher and causing him to attack the police. -
3. Police Station
Christopher was taken to the police station after hitting a police officer. He says that he likes the police because of their uniforms. His father arrived to the station at 1:12 am, but wasn't able to see him until 1:28 am. Since Christopher doesn't like hugs, him and his father do this hand gesture where they spread their fingers and touched fingertips. -
7. School Assignment
Siobhan, Christopher's teacher, encourages him to write about something that interests him. He decides to write a murder mystery about Mr.Wellingon, based on Sherlock Holmes stories. -
11. Mother's Death
2 years ago, Christopher's father tells him, "I'm afraid you won't be able to see your mother for awhile. She needs to rest and needs to be on her own." 2 weeks later, his mother died. -
13 & 19. Detective Duties
Christopher goes around the neighborhood asking about Mr.Wellington. He comes one specific neighbor, Mrs.Alexander, who helps him so much. She explains to him that his mother had an affair with Mr.Shears and moved to London. -
23. The Truth
After finding out the truth from Mrs.Alexander, Christopher leave the book the he was working on on the table. His father sees it and realizes why he's upset. He goes to Christopher and explains that he's the one that killed Mr.Wellington. -
The Letter
Christopher finds a letter to his father that was sent from his mother a year and a half after her "death." 6 days later, he finds every letter sent from his mother and reads all of them.
