BIRTH
Telmo Zarraonandia Montoya (Zarra), was born in Mungia, he was the seventh child of ten children. -
ZARRA'S FIRST STEPS
About the thirties, he started doing the hobbi of two of his brothers, he started playing football. He played in Erandio Club, and later, the national team of Bizkaia took on him to play a match. In that match, he scored seven goals. -
HIS CONTRACT WITH ATHLETIC
Athletic didn't take a long time to hire him, and Telmo Zarra became an Athletic player. -
HIS DEBUT WITH ATHLETIC
He played his first match with Athletic against Valencia Club, and in that match he scored two goals. -

COMPULSORY MILITARY SERVICE
He had to leave Athletic for a year, because he had to do the compulsory military service. -

HIS BEST YEAR
This year was the best year of his degree, because he won the "pichichi" prize. He was the player who had scored more goals in that year. It was his first "pichichi" prize. He would get five more pichichi awards in his life. -
ANOTHER GOOD YEAR OF ZARRA
He played a final of the Copa Del Rey again, against the Valladolid Club. Athletic won the match and Zarra scored four goals. That year, he played the World Cup with the Spain national team, and Zarra scored his most famous goal. -

HIS LAST YEARS
He started playin in teams of the second league, until he retired in 1957. -
ZARRA'S DEATH
In teh twenty third of may of 2006, Zarra died of a heart attack in Bilbo. Months later, the Marca newspaper, created a prize called Zarra. This prize is given to the Spanish player who scores more goal in the year.
