Teenage Wasteland

  • Requested Conference

A call from the school to Donny's parents was found out to be a requested conference, that his mother ended up attending. Discussing Donny's first signs of abnormal behavior occurred.
  • Daily Check In

Ever since that meeting/conference in October with Donny's mom, a solution was suggested by the principal (Mr. Lanham), to check up on Donny daily to make sure that his work was getting completed and that he could stay on track with school. Daisy decided to do so everyday since then hoping it would be encouraging
  • Requested Conference 2

The following month, a follow up conference was recommended but with Donny's father being there this time. The principal thought both parents should listen as Donny's issues have gotten more serious. Good news was brought to the table as Don's grades had slightly improved, however what's good news without the new, negative problems being dragged along too? Cutting class started to occur, along with smoking, alcohol usage, and breaking into lockers.
  • Consequences

With all of the new issues Donny was involving himself in, Matt and Daisy had grown worried for their son as well as the principal. Solutions to overcome this was discussed and ended up with the decision in which seeing a psychologist came into play and the decision was final. This soon became a big part of Donny's life as he started attending every week and grew to like and become closer to his psychologist, Cal.
  • A Whole New Angle

As Donny had been attending the psychology sessions with Cal, he had taken interest to what looks like became his new hobby. Although his grades still stayed low, his attitude started to change to what looked like progress. After Cal had spent this time with Donny, he reported to Daisy what could be the issue with Donny. Cal told Daisy things that could be the underlying issue such as feeling underestimated due to the over protectiveness. This was causing sadness, distrust, etc.
  • More Freedom

Throughout the advice that Cal was giving Donny's parents, they decided to give him more space, less controlling ness and more love in hopes that this would help their son since Cal suggested that not having those things may be the issue. Donny started getting more freedom and was allowed to do things that he wasn't before like attending parties, staying out late, etc. Cal started taking more control over Donny as phone calls from the school were soon directed to him and only him.
  • Expelled

The principal had called Daisy to inform her that Donny was expelled from school. He was framed with 5 cans of beer and cigarettes in his locker. It seemed as he tried to hide the beer but got busted. Although we don't know if he was involved in the incident, Donny claimed he had nothing to do with it and was 'set up'.
  • Public School

After being expelled, clearly Don didn't get much better. In fact, it seemed if anything he got worse and involved himself with bad influences. His parents decided to stop sending him to Cal and to enroll him at another school, a public school. Donny objected and wasn't happy about this at all.
  • Final Exams

Donny obeyed his parents and went to the public school he was sent to. He attended the classes he was supposed to while obtaining average grades. However, he was in a worse spot than he was before. He had no friends nor clubs that he could've joined. This stressed him out making him very depressed. School turned into a obstacle for him.During his final week of exams, Donny disappeared and went missing. He never came home after attending school one morning.
  • Vanished

Three months after the incident, still no one had heard from Donny. The cops had tried to look for him but found nothing. His parents would look for him in every crowd. Daisy would lay in bed every night thinking about what she could've done differently and where she went wrong. She would throw blame and overthink the situation in regret. She is in deep sorrow along with Matt and miss him like crazy. They'd do anything to get him back, but he was never found.
