    On October 31, 1517 the 95 thesis were posted on the door of the church. The 95 thesis. were a list of beliefs about the calthoic Church. This marked the begining of the Protestant Reformation. The Pope demanded Martain Luther, the one who posted the thesis, to recan the thesis. When he didn't he was cut from the Cathloic Church.     Originally a Ducth colony named New Netherlands. In the year 1664 King Charkes claimed New Netherlands as his own. King Charles was an England King. After that it was given the name duke of york. In 1702 New Jersey split so it was called New York.

    The winter of 1777-1778 was a very hard winter. The American troops had no supplies. They all lived on Valley Forge in tents or cabins. 1/3 of the troops died from diseases, lack of food, or cold. Despite all the bad things that happened that winter did help the troops grow & work together. With the training Barron Friedrich Von Steubon the troop grew into a better army. This is important because it strengthen the soldiers.
