Pineda Voyage
Alonso Alvarez de Pineda's goal was to find a water route to the pacific ocean. He was the first to map the Texas coast from Florida to Texas. His map of the coast led to others exploring the land on the gulf coast. -

Corte's main goal was to find gold. He conquored the Aztecs and their leader in Mexico. He brought back 99 tons of gold by 1570. He sparked discovery of North and South America because he found so much gold. -

Narvez was the riginal leader of the first voyage. He was supposed to look for gold with Narvez then he died. -

De Vaca part 2
De Vaca and h9s group got left on Florida by the boats, so they built 5 crude boats to go bak to Cuba. They got caught in a storm and got blown to Galveston with only 80 survivors. They lived with the karankawa indian tribe for 4 years. After De Vaca met up with 3 other survivors, they became slaves to the indians. They became medicine men by peforming the first surgery. He reported a place called Cibola, the seven cities of gold and more people came to explore Texas. -

Esteban and Fray Marcos were sent to study the land to the North. They discovered New Mexico and Texas, they told of seeing a city bigger than Mexico City.
