De Vaca Discovers Texas
They built 5 boats and got shipwrecked onto Galveston. He was in Texas for 8 years. -

Fray Marcos and Esteban's Journey
The purpose of their journey was to study the land to the north. Esteban was killed by Zunis for demanding food and women. Fray Marcos climbed on top of a hill to have a better view and reported/lied that he saw a golden city. -

Moscoso's Expedition
DeSoto was the leader of this expedition but Moscoso took over after he died. The purpose of his expedition was to search for gold. They explored from Florida to Texas along Pineda’s map and DeSoto died at the Mississippi River. This expedition is important because Spain would not return for 150 years because of his reports. He basically had the same reports Coronado did. -

Coronado was looking for the 7 cities of gold for Spain. He was looking for Cibola and Quivera and his expedition was important because Spanish do not return with any major expeditions for 150 years because of his report.
