    Pineda was the first to map the coast from Florida to Texas
    Pineda made a mistake and landed in south Florida. So, he built a draft like floating device to sail back to Spain, because his boats were destroyed. During his journey on the draft he would be marking his path, to know how to sail back to Florida. It was not soon after they landed on Galveston Island, instead of Spain. Therefore he was the first to map the coast of Florida to Teaxs.

    During this trip cortes would discover Mexico and bring back 99 tons of gold by 1570. He brings back that much gold due to the fact that he had lied to the Aztecs and making them believe he was a god. Then he killed all of the Aztecs and stole their valuables.

    Desoto, the leader, and Moscoso were sent off the Florida in search for gold, they found the mississippi river. Desoto became to get a fever and died during the discovery of the mississippi river and was placed into the water of the river in result of his death.

    Coronado's goal of his expedition was to find the seven cities of gold. He explored 5 states looking for them. He later found Quivera, that was told was one of the seven cities, but instead it turned out to be filled with Adobes and indians. He told of Texas being a land that offers nothing. That it has no gold, harshlands, and difficult indians.
