Cortes conquered the Aztecs in what is now Present day Mexico City. Cortes' army defeated the Aztecs in their main city (Tenochitlan). This battle was important because it was the start of the look for gold throught North and South America. -

Moscoso and De Soto(the leader) were sent to explore Florida. There they found the Mississippi River and many other landmarks. Moscoso is called the "Founder of the Mississippi". -

Fray Marcos and Estebans Journey
The purpose was to find cities of gold and pay back Spain. Fray Marcos was sitting on a hill and thought he saw a huge city, bigger than Mexico City, that was full of gold. He reported their sightings to Spain. -

Coronado's expedition
Cordonado's expedition is mainly about gold. Someone told Spain there were two cities full of gold and run by Amaonian wemen. The names were Cibola and Quivera. This journey turned out to be nothing, Corodnado found no gold. -
Pineda's Voyage
Pineda was very important to History because he was the first ever to document a full map of Texas and Florida. That map became a very useful source to get around Texas/Florida. This map triggers alot of other explorations in the gulf coast.
