Stardom Begins
At the age 14 Melchor Clemente was on his way to becoming a star. One day while he was playing baseball with a tin can and a tree branch Sello Rojo asked to talk to him. He asked him to join his softball team. This was Melchor first time playing for a real team. he soon moved up to Amateus Baseball League for Ferdinand Juncos. -
The Dream Continues
At 17 Robeto had his first contract. His first contract was at Santorsa Congraharis. He mad $40 a week and got his games on the radio! He got a $400 bonus too. Willie Maz encouraged him and helped him practice. -
Schools Out!!
Roberto finished high school in 1952. He went to Julio Vizcarondo High School. His mom wanted him to go to school for engineering but he knew that wasn’t going to happen. He won regional competitions of throwing the javelin 190 ft!! -
First Time Major League Team
This was Roberto first time on playing for such a popular team. He played right fielder. Even though Roberto was a good player the Brooklyn Dodgers didn’t let him play because they didn’t want anyone to steal him away. -
The Trip to Pittsburgh
Roberto came to Pittsburgh in 1955 and as soon as he got soon as he got there he did not like it. He was treated very badly because he had dark skin. He was not aloud to sleep in the same room or eat with his teammates. Hegot very home sick. He couldn’t speak English so the only thing he ate was chicken because that was the only thing he could say. -
Pittsburgh Pirates Baseballs
Roberto was brought to the Pirates by Branch Rickey. They Pittsburgh Pirates were never all that good. Roberto played as a star right fielder for 18 year. He improved the team a lot. -
2nd in the National League
Robbeto helped lead the pirates to be the 2nd in the National League. It was one of the first times that happened in a long time. Roberto just improved the team so much. -
Crowning of the king!
This was Roberto’s first crown ever! He got it for having the highest batting average and for his career. -

This was Roberto’s 3rd crown. It was a great honor. -
The Marrige of Two
Roberto and Vera Christina Zabala got married at San Fernando Roman Catholic Church. They met in their early 20s and on November 14 they got married. Soon after they had three kids. There was Roberto Walker Jr., Luis Roberto Walker, Roberto Enrique Walker. -

This was the Roberto's 2nd crown. He was an amazing player. -

The Big Star
On January 1sr, 1971 Roberto Clemente was acknowliged for being a big-league star for more than 15 years. He was an amazing player. He was know for his running, catching,cannon arm, and hitting power. He was well know all over the world. -
Award winning
Roberto won the World Series MVP Award in 1971. He got it by batting a .414, two home runs and two doubles against Baltimore. -
The Hero Helps Others??
Roberto wasn’t only a baseball player he was a giver. On his free time he went around to the hospitals seeing sick kids. He loved to see the kids faces when he walked in. He was well known for his act of care ness of paying for a boy to get a new leg. -
A Hero No more
">(Roberto Clemente was an amazing person who died trying to help others. He died on New Years Eve in a plane crash on his way to Nicaragua. It was 9:20 p.m. when his plane went down into shark infested waters 120 ft deep at San Juan International. He was on his was to get food and supplies to people in need. Hi body was never found. -
Death for Vera
The death for Vera was horrible. She had to find out that he died form her niece who called to say she was sorry for her loss. When he died she got $100,000 plus $65 a month. Also $1,046 a month. When he died Vera only told Roberto Zabala Jr. because he was the oldest.
