San martin declared independence for Argentina in 1816.He met up with O Higgins in 1817 to try and fight off the spanish forces.With the help of Bolivar and Higgins martin gained freedom for Argentina in 1817.Together they tried to drive the rest of thec spanish foreces out of Peru.
