The man fell through the water which was below zero and got out and began to freeze all over his body -

The man begins to gather the supplies he needs to build the fire. He began to see how quickly his fingers were turning different colors. -
Resolution
Lights the matches and lite the fire and he could feel his hands he knew he was going to be okay.
