Early years of life
The day that Sebastian was born. It was a dark day for Sebastian's father. He had been with Sebastian's mother one night, and never intended to have a family. Mary and Elijah married because of the baby, not because they were in love. Elijah was a dismissive parent, and rarely showed any real care for the baby. Elijah blamed Sebastian for ruining his life. Sebastian grew up with fear and anxiety towards the world and relationships. It was hard to trust people. Stage 1 Trust and Mistrust. -
Preschool
As Sebastian grew up, his need for approval from his father grew as well...but it is was never satiated because nothing was ever good enough for his father. Sebastian rarely felt good about himself, because he was constantly put down by the one he idolized most. Sebastian did not do well in school and did not have many friends because he constantly felt inferior. Initiative vs. guilt Stage 3 -
Childhood
Sebastian enjoyed sports and he desperately wished that he had friends to play with. He was a little awkward around people because he was constantly seeking their approval. He never thought that he was good enough. His father made sure of that, and it was hard not to believe such a prominent figure in Sebastian's life. Industry vs Inferiority Stage 4
