Birth!
I was born on June 26, 2002 in Xi'an, China -
Baptized
I got baptized in Rhode Island when I was living there before first grade. Being baptized was the beginning of my spiritual walk with Christ and was a milestone of my faith. -
Moved to Minnesota
I moved to Minnesota before the beginning of first grade. This was a major change because I was moving halfway across the country to begin life again in a new location. I started attending New Life Academy that following fall and have been at New Life since then. -
Met Mide
I met Mide in first grade at New Life. We didn't become really good friends until 9th grade though. She has become one of my best friends here and one of the most trustworthy people in my life. She has played a large role in shaping who I am today and continues to be one of my best friends. -
Started Band
I started playing saxophone in 5th grade. Since then, I have been in band class. Music became a large role in my life and has become a large deciding factor on what I am going to do as a career when I am older. I am planning to go into music or music therapy when I am older. -
Cheer
I began doing cheer in 8th grade when I was at New Life. I have been in cheer since then and it helped me become more outgoing and taught me new things that I wouldn't have learned without it. I enjoyed stunting and being in competition cheer helped me grow in confidence. -
Hired at Cane's
This was my first job and I have recently hit my two years. I have met a lot of new people there that have become close friends. It gives me the experience of working with strangers and also helped me grow as an individual. -
Junior's Mission Trip
This was my first time going out of the country, other than Canada. It was a defining moment in my journey of faith because I got to experience the joy of children and adults who were not as fortunate as the rest of us. Mexico was a really positive experience for me and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me to go with my whole grade. -
Harvard Book Award
Last year I was awarded a major award through New Life. This Harvard award was important to me because it showed me that my hard work in academics was starting to pay off throughout high school. Harvard Book Award has been one of the major awards I have received in high school. -
Started Senior Year
This is one of the most important years in high school. My senior year has brought new experiences for me. This year I am pushing myself in academics so that I can be better prepared for the future. It was a weird transition going into school during a pandemic, but teachers and friends made that transition easier for me.
