  • First Day of Kindergarten

My first day of kindergarten was really scary for me because it was the first time I ever went to school. I never went to pre-school before either. I was crying and not letting my mom leave. Plus, I didn't know English at all because my first language is Punjabi. So, it was really difficult for me because I did not understand what the teachers and the students were trying to say and on top of that I never went anywhere outside without my parents.

  • The Day I Failed my First Multiplication Test

I was in third grade when I first started learning my multiplication and division facts. It was a really hard concept to understand and memorize for me because I barely knew how to add and subtract properly. Plus, I did not study at all at home either. So, I failed my first multiplication test and my teacher made me stay inside the class for recess in order to practice those facts. Later, I told my mom and she taught me multiplication. Then I became the highest scoring student on my math tests.

  • When my Baby Brother was Born

I used to have only two sisters and no brother. I loved my sisters, but I used to feel sad whenever I saw kids playing with their baby brothers. I always wanted a baby brother and on April 7th of 2014 my wish came true. I was so excited that day to go meet my brother at the hospital, plus me and my sisters didn't go to school that day either. So we got there at the hospital and I saw my baby brother for the very first time. My brother makes me forget all my worries whenever I play with him.
  • The Day of the Truck Accident

My dad is a truck driver. On this day, me and my entire family was supposed to go on a vacation to Canada. My dad was actually at work that day delivering a load somewhere. All of us were packing last minute stuff in our bags. Then we got a phone call saying that our truck's tire popped and the truck flipped onto its side. My dad was fine except for he just had a few cuts. So that day, I realized how important my dad is to me because I got really scared when we got the phone call.
