    When my father died in 1925, my mother started running the family photography studio. On "the night of broken glass" we were in the studio making id cards for Jews.

    My mother and I were deported to a concentration camp on the France/ Spain border.

    Someone told me that there was a Pastor in Le Chambon that was working to get children out of camps.

    The workers talked to my mother, and unlike many mothers who wanted to keep their children with them, my mother sent me to Le Chambon so I could have a better life.
