He joined MIT in 1958, and was a part of their faculty until his death. He initiated the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab with John McCarthy, which is known by that name until now. -
The Turing Machine
In 1962, Minsky published a Turing Machine, that remained to be the most universal for about 40 years, and held the longest record until 2002. A Turing machine can automatically compute mathematics. -

In 1963, Minsky invented the first head mounted graphical display. This has a huge impact in todays technology as we see this invention pop up in many things whether its gaming, aviation and even medicine. -

In 1969, Misnky published his book Perceptrons. Where he explained an type of artificial neural network. He also criticized the work of Frank Rosenblatt. It also caused major controversies with the concept or Artificial Intelligence that is still disputed till this day. Lastly, he also wrote about the possibility of extraterrestrial life.
