Benjamin Franlkin had an extroidinary printing backround that he used to make the Pennsylvania Gazette one of the most widely read newpapers in the colony. His unique writing style and use of cartoons revolutionized how newspaper were made. -
Publishes Poor Richards Almanac
Poor Richard's Almanac had witty and wise sayings and was so popular that it was published for more than 25 years. It included recipes, weather predictions, and funny articles. The Almanac also inlcluded famous sayings like, "Fish and visitors stink after two days." -
Creates the Union Fire Company
Benjamin Franklin started the Union Fire Company because fires destroyed many homes in Philadelphia. He also worked on improving the safety of the city by putting in lights and having roads paved. Many people benefited from his contributions to the city. -
Invented the Franklin Stove
Benjamin Franklin invented a stove that was more efficient. It produced more heat and used less fuel. The amazing thing was that he got no finanical gain from this invention and he never patented the Franklin Stove. -

Embassador to England
Benjamin Franklin was sent to England to represent Pennsylvania in 1757 and he stayed there until 1775. He not only represented Pennsylvania but other colonies such as Georgia, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. He was important in the repeal of the Stamp Act which had infuriated the colonists. Delivers Petition to King George
Benjamin Franklin delivered a list of grievances againt England to King George III and asked for him to help solve the problems. He was concerned that war might be inevitable and went there to try to prevent more strife between the colonies and England. -

Benjamin Franklin helped to draft the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation while he was a part of the the Second Continental Congress. -

Benjamin Franklin was 81 years old when he signed the Constitution. He spoke about the importance of having a strong but just government and asked that all delegates sign the Constitution. -
