  • Life

    Born October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England. John Winston Lennon was a child to two parents, Julia and Fred. They separated when he was two years old. He was left to live with his mother's sister, his aunt Mimi Smith. His mother was tragically killed when he was 17 by getting hit by a bus. In his school days he attended Quarry Bank High School where he started his first musical group called the Quarrymen, started in 1955. A year before meeting Paul McCartney.
  • The Beatles

    In the summer of 1956, John Lennon and Paul McCartney met. They then started writing songs together and forming different groups. The last group they formed was of course, The Beatles. Consisting of George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, and John Lennon. He wrote most of the group's most popular songs throughout the Beatles time. Him and McCartney remained a writing team up until the band's official break up in 1970.
  • John and Yoko

    John and Yoko met in 1966 at an art gallery in London. They then started creative work together from then on. After working together for some time, Lennon separated from his wife at the time, Cynthia. They were officially divorced the following November. He was stated saying that his relationship with Ono was one of the most important in his life. The two's relationship caused tension within the Beatles.
  • Peace

    After being married in Gibralter, they decided to do a "bed-in" to spend their honeymoon. This peace protest was held in the presidential sweet of the Amsterdam Hilton. This was the first of the many protests for peace the couple will partake in together, but it was by far the one protest with the most publicity surrounding it.
  • Death

    Stepping out from a limousine on a cold December day in New York, approaching his apartment right near Central Park, Lennon was shot fatally. The shooter was a Hawaii resident, Mark David Chapman. Apparently, over the past four days prior to the incident, Chapman was badgering Lennon for an autograph. He was taken to the nearest hospital, Roosevelt Hospital, and was pronounced dead on the scene. The doctors tried everything they could to save the legend but to no prevail.
