Muhammad is born in the town of Mecca from his noble family and is known for his honesty and upright character.

Muhammad is 40 years old and while on a retreat in a cave near Mecca while meditating is visited by an angel of god. The angel tells Muhammad that he is a prophet of god and must spread his word. After telling his people to worship one god, Muhammad was beginning to get persecuted as his followers became hostile.

After his enduring persecution in Mecca, Muhammad and his remaining followers move to a nearby town called Yathrib. (later know as Medina.) The people of Yathrib were very accepting of Islam, this marked the "Hijrah" or "Emigration" and the begining of the Islamic calender. In Yathrib Muhammad established an Islamic state based on the laws revealed by the Quran.

Muhammad returns to Mecca with an outstanding number of followers. He enters peacefully, and eventually all the citizens begin to accept the Islamic faith. After his acceptance Muhammad clears all idols and rededicates it to the worship of one god.

Muhammad dies of a prolonged illness and his father-in-law is elected to become his successor.
