In 1892 the Carnegie Steel's workers decided to form a union. They wanted to fight for better wages, better working conditions, and shorter hours. When the company decided they weren't gonna give it to them they went on strike. Carnegie Steel hired the Pinkerton agency to try to force the strikers to work again. It ended with 16 people dead. -
