Ambroise Pare
Pare was born in 1510. He made advances in medicine; dsicovering herbs and natural remedies. He also made a treatment for infants so that their teeth would grow into their gums correctly. The picture is by Pare and shows a case reported in which a woman gave borth to undecaplets after already having nontuplets. Pare also wrote Treatise on Curative Methods for Wounds of the Head. -

Andreas Vesalius
Andreas Vesalius was born in 1514. He was skilled in the field of medicine and more specifically; surgery. He published a book titled Tabulae Anatomicae Sex in 1538. It conatined detailed anatomical drawings. -

Tycho Brahe
Tycho Brahe was born in 1546. He was a Daniash nobleman who made accurate observations of astronomical data. He was given the funding to have an state with his own research institute called Uraniborg. Tycho's assistant was Johannes Kepler helped to derive the laws of planetary motion. Tycho Brache wrote De Nova Stelle. -

Francis Bacon
Francis Bacon was born in 1561. He was a jurist, author, statesman, ohilosopher, and scientist. He also created a methodology for scientific inquiry entitled the Baconian method. Bacon was knighted in 1603. He died from pneumonia while he studied the effects of freezing on preserving meat. -

William Harvey
William Harvey was born in 1578. He was a physician who was the first to completely describe the circulatory system and its blood in humans. He wrote a book entitled: On the Motion of the Heart and Blood. The William Harvey Hospital was named after him. -
René Descartes
René Descartes was born in 1596. He was a writer, mathematician, philosopher, and a Frenchman. He was famous for the quote "I think, therefore I am." He was a major figure in the field of Rationalism. Rne also wrote Meditations on First Philosophy. -
Robert Boyle
Robert Boyle was born in 1627. He was the father of the modern experimental meathod. He had many publications and traveled accross Europe while visiting many different laboratories. Boyle also wrote The Sceptical Chymist.
