    This was important because he finally got a daughter who took over his kingdom when he died.

    New York was the largest and most northernest state. New york was ruled by the dutch. In 1624 King Charles had claimed New York for his brother James. This event was important because if New York was never established then New York would never be part of The United States.

    The Proclamation Act was when England had said they did not want any wars. The natives and their leader Pontiac had attacked British Forts. The British could not fight because they had no money to buy weapons. This was important because if we did't have this war we would have a big problem today.

    The Continental Congress started September 5, 1774. 55 delegates from 12 colonies came to this congress. The congress was held in Philidelphia . Georgia was not included in this congress. This is when the Declaration rights and Grievce was written. This was important because if we did not have this congress they would've never adopted the Declaration Act.

    April 19,1775 the british arrive in Lexington and they have killed 8 colonists. The british wanted to takeover the supplies before the colonists did. When the british arrived the military supplies have already been moved. This is the 1st battle of the American Revolution.

    The 2nd continental congress was held after the battle of lexington concord. The congress was in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They met at the independence hall which there was many delegates that represented their colonies. The delegates chose Goerge Washington as their leader. This event was important because if it was not held the meeting big problems would came their way.

    The Treaty of Paris started in 1783. The Treat wnded the war between the U.S and Britian. The treaty was to stop the revolutionary war and gain independence. This was important because if they didn't have the Treaty of Paris the war would be still going and they would have no independence.

    During the period of Westward Expansion settlers traveled 2,000miles to the Oregon. The trail started from Missouri to the Oregon. The trip took 4-6 months. This trip was very dangerous because of the sickness and weather. Diseases like Cholera had no cures back in the Oregon trail days. This event is important because if the Oregon trail was never founded it would be very hard to find your destination without the Oregon Trail.

    In 1803 the United States had purchased a large area from the French. 1803 Napoleon had offered to sell the territory to the U.S for 15 million dollars. The Lousiana territory totaled to 828 square miles. This was important because if Napoleon never offered it they would've owned it and we would bot becom a nation.

The war started in July and a man named William Hull had led U.S army troops. Finally by 1815 the war ends and americans won the battle. This was important because if we didn't fight against them we would've been ruled by british.

    In 1846 the U.S declared war on Mexico. The cause was that Mexico and the U.S both wanted Texas. Mexico claimed that Texas had been with them since 1821. Texas disagrees with the government of Mexico. On July 7,1846 Mexico and the U.S went into war. Gen. Santa Anna led the Mexicans while Gen. Zachary fayler led the U.S troops. Mexico was forced to retreat back to Palo Alto. This was important because if the U.S never won Mexico would've took over Texas and would've declared another war.

    1848 the discovery of the Gold Rush was in California. People from all over went to California. The gold was founded by Janes Marshall. Gold prospectors were called 49ers. The 49ers followed 3 major routes which were the Oregon Trail, Santa Fe, and the old spanish trail. In 1850 California became a state. This was important because if no gold was found California would've never became a state.

    The Fugitive Slave Law was that all citzens were required to help return the runaway slaves. If the citzens were caught helping slaves they would either pay $1000 fine or 6 months in jail. Who ever returned in a slave to the judge he would get $10 for each slave that was brought back. This was important because if they didn't have this law then the slave owners would make a riot.

    Dread Scott was a slave military doctor who lived in Missouri. Dred was in Wisconsin with a doctor who had died. THe family of the doctor came to pick up the dead doctors thinfgs including Dred. Dred had sued for his freedom. This was important because if Dred never spoke up for freedom he would've become a slave his self.

    In 1863 there was a battle and its name was the Battle of Vicksburg. That battle started in July located in MIssissippi. The fight was between General Grant vs General Pembrook. The Battle was to stop supplies coming in and out of the city. This was a major victory for the Union.

    In July the battle of Gettysburg had started. General Robert had led the offensive attack. On the second day of the battle they fought against General Chamberlin. On the third day General Pickett attacked the ridge but the union had forced the confederates to retreat. This is important because if they never fought against each other they wouldve have bigger problems.

    On April 14, 1865 president Abraham Lincoln was going to the theater with his wife and friends. During the play Abraham was shot by John Willes Booth. After Booth shot him, Booth jumps onto the stage and makes a statement. The president was being treated in a house acoss the street and the next morning he died. This event was important because if they didt shoot Abraham they would've had a different idea of killing him.
