During this time, Chen opposes the woman rights laws and the help for the disabled, he is sentenced to 6 years in prison. Before his trial, 3 of his lawyers were arrested and questioned. -
2010, Chen is released
Chen Guangcheng is released from prison after six long years, and is then put on house arrest. He attempts to use video communication to send a message, but it is responded with a beating. -

Chen Guangcheng's daughter is basically barred out of school for a while. -
2012, Chen escapes.
Chen Guangcheng escapes his house arrest, breaing muliple bones from the scaling of walls and other various obstacles. He manages it until the U.S. Embassy. -

Chen's family receives threats of forcing them to return to their home village, where thugs are waiting to beat them to death, unless Chen leaves the U.S. Embassy, they will be sent back! -
2012, Chen leaves the embassy
Chen Guangcheng leaves the United states embassy after striking a deal with the U.S. Government to live in a coastal village and study law in peace. "I have not rested in 10 years" says Chen. He wants to be isolated from the Chinese laws and live a peaceful life. -

Chen leaves the embassy, but he fully realizes the threats put against him and his family. He then flees to the hospital.
Chen calls the United States and asks to be transported there with his family. Chen is boxed into the hospital by Chinese police. -
2012, The peak of the Chen
-After Chen phoned the U.S. Congress, they’ve been debating on how to solve this. He says he never received asylum, or pressure to leave the Embassy, and that was all on his own. He states; "He is focused on the need to advance US interests in our broad-based relationship with China... He has and will continue to make a priority in that relationship or a part of that relationship an open and frank discussion of our concerns about human rights." Obama also put his comment in his no-concern say.
