Genghis Khan was born on 1162 in Mongolia. He was born with the name Temujin. His father was a man named Yesugei and his mother a woman named Hoelun.

When Temujin was 9 years old his father, Yesugei, was poisoned to death. His father was coming home from a trip when he stopped to eat with a rival clan. The enemy clan realized who he was and poisoned his food.

When Temujin was 11 he had a very close friend named Jamuka. To show their friendship and loyalty they became andas, or blood brothers.

When he was 16 Temujin had married a girl named Borte. Borte was 17 at that time which was almost too old to get married.

In his death in 1227 he had an empire that stretched 3,000 miles and an total area of 3,500,000 square miles. Doing this starting with a small tribe at 17 was no easy tasks. With the help of ally's and his people he was able to dominate all his battles. But this must also mean he was a master war strategist. Countless times he has been outnumbered in army size but he was able to win all those battles.

When Temujin was 17 he broke off ties with Jamuka, his blood brother. He did this after Jamuka stopped treating him as an equal and insulted him. After this they became fierce rivals and fought many wars in the next 25 years

After Temujin was reunited with his long lost blood brother, Jamuka, he became good friends with him. One day Jamuka stopped treating Temujin as an equal and insulted him. As a result Genghis Khan cut off ties with him and became fierce rivals with him.

When Temujin was 44 years old his clan had gave him the name Genghis Khan. Genghis meant strong and Khan meant ruler. This means he was a strong leader.

To the west of the Mongol empire was a huge empire called Khwarizm. This was the last step for Genghis Khan to become the most powerful ruler ever. The Mongol empire declared war after the enemy killed one of their own traders. From there they marched on from city to city until they reached Samarkand the capital. There it fell in 10 days with 100,000 soldiers defending it.

During Genghis Khan's rule he conquered multiple civilizations in Asia. This meant that these civilizations would never grow and develop into a modern day country, but be part of the Mongolian empire. Our modern day world could've seen different countries, and some countries would've never existed if it weren't for Genghis Khan
