  • Parents divorce

My parents divorce was the first major impact in my life as well as my brothers. We had to adjust to a whole new lifestyle. At first, switching houses was difficult, but 9 years later it feels like muscle memory. The divorce had plenty of negative impacts, but a positive one is that I became stronger.

  • Getting Dexter

Dexter is the 3rd Bullmastiff that my dad has had. Although I was alive for the other 2, Simon and Shamus, I was very young and don't remember having them around. We got Dexter when I was 9. He has been the friendliest and laziest dog I've ever seen. I think having him has made me take more responsibility.
  • Grandparents moving

My grandparents on my Mom's side moved to Florida when I was 11. It was so hard not being able to see them because my Grandma GG would come to my house almost every week and hang out with me and my brother. My Grandpa GB is the smartest person I know. They have both helped me get through numerous situation and I still miss them so much. Them moving away has made me realize how much I miss them and how much I want to have a successful life.
  • Jaime's death

Jaime was my Dad's girlfriend for 5 years. They started dating when I was 9. We would always go over her house and hangout with her 3 kids. It was always fun and we enjoyed being around all of them. She was like a second mother to me. When she passed away I was devastated. I think her death made me closer to my Father.
  • Covid

Covid-19 has had a major impact on my life as well as every other person in the U.S. Being in isolation for so long at the start made me realize how much I take for granted our freedom. It has been a huge learning curve, and I still find it difficult. The first trimester of this year was hard for me, but I know I will do better the next tri. Covid made me appreciate the freedoms we have but it also made me more responsible for myself and my own actions paving my way to adulthood.
