Victor Frankenstein is taken on board by Walton. At this moment he explains to him his story leading up to a rescue of a monster and the long story of his life.

First, he tells Walton that he was born into a rich family. He has two brothers and he lives with his cousin too, who was adopted by his family. Her name was Elisabeth.

Then he tells Walton that in school he meets Henry, his lifelong friend. His passion is fiction and storytelling.

He collects corpses from local graves.

Victor's mother dies just before he goes to university. Her dying wish is that Elizabeth and Victor marry someday.

Victor leaves home to the University of Ingolstadt to study chemistry.

He stitches them together and animates the body.

After that, he becomes frightened and he rejects the monster before he runs away.

Victor is happy to the monster's gone, but he falls ill because of strenuously working.

Almost a year later he prepares him to return home. But he receives a letter informing him that his brother William has been murdered. Victor suspects that is the monster who killed him.

While Victor is hiking the monster appears. It tells him that he was adopted by the Delacy family. With them, he has learned to speak and read.

Upon revealing his identity to the family is rejected.

The monster feels lonely and asks Victor to create a female monster so that he could be with her. The monster tells Victor about the horrible things he would do if Victor didn't create that monster. Victor accepts but he doesn't keep his promise, because he gets scared of the monster creating a new species of monsters, and destroys the female before completing it.

As revenge, the monster murders Victor's best friend, but Victor got accused of the murder.

He gets sick because he is so upset that the monster has killed another of his friends.

He goes back home, and marries Elise like he's been planning his whole life.

Victor was expecting the monster to kill him on his wedding night, so he waited him with a gun all night. Actually, the monster murdered Elisa.

Alphons dies of grief, and Victor lost everybody.

After that, he has been looking for the monster to destroy it, but the monster has been going to the north, until the point where they were chasing each other on dogsleds. At this moment he meets Walton and explains all these things.

After telling the story, he dies onboard the boat, and the monster comes to pay a final farewell to Frankenstein.

The monster ends up destroying himself because he didn't mean to be bad. He jumps into the water and disappears into the darkness.
